Deleting your account and data
You can delete your HivePulse account yourself, at any time, without asking anyone. This page explains how and what exactly disappears — it exists because Google and Apple require it to be readable without installing the app.
In the app or on the website
- Open your profile: in the apps under Settings, on the website under Dashboard → Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and choose “Delete account”.
- Confirm. There is no waiting period and no further email.
The deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone. Export your inspections first if you want to keep them — the dashboard offers a CSV download per apiary.
What is deleted
- Your account: email address, name, language and password.
- All your apiaries and hives, including their QR codes.
- Every inspection you recorded, with notes and custom fields.
- Your sessions and, if you enabled reminders, the device token used to send them.
What remains
Hornet reports and hornet traps stay. They are observations about the environment that other beekeepers rely on, and they are not linked to your account afterwards — the trap keeps its name and location, but no longer points at a person. Aggregate community statistics also stay, because they contain no personal data: a number of hives per region, never a hive of yours.
How long anything is kept
In the live database the deletion is immediate — nothing of your account is left a minute later. Our hosting provider keeps automatic database backups for up to 30 days; a backup can only ever be restored as a whole, never for a single account, and after that window the data is gone from there too. The hornet reports and traps described above have no retention limit, because they no longer relate to a person. We keep no separate copies, no archives and no exports.
