Try HivePulse before everybody else
HivePulse is finished, but not yet in the stores. Before Google lets a new developer publish an app, twelve people have to test it for two weeks — so this phase is not a formality, it is the gate. If you keep bees and own a phone, you can help.
Joining
On Android, Google only lets in accounts we have registered beforehand — without an entry the link says “App not available”. Send us your Google account address at hivepulse@multihead.de
To take part you need a Google account for Android or an Apple ID for the iPhone — the same one your phone already uses. Inside the app you then create a HivePulse account with an email address and a password; it takes a minute and costs nothing. You can leave at any time.
What it involves
- Install the app and set up one apiary with a couple of hives. Fifteen minutes.
- Record a visit the next time you are at the hives — that is the part worth testing in the field, gloves and all.
- Stay in the test for two weeks. Google counts the testers daily, so leaving early sets the clock back for everyone.
- Tell us what was confusing. One sentence is more useful than none, and “nothing broke” is also an answer.
Reporting something
No forum, no account, no ticket system — just write to hivepulse@multihead.de
Useful in a report: which phone, what you did, what you expected instead. A photo of the screen says more than a description. If the app closed itself, it has already sent a crash report — you do not have to describe it.
What happens with your data
The same as for everybody else: your apiaries are private unless you put them on the public map yourself, nothing is sold or passed on, and there is no advertising. Test builds carry crash reporting, which sends the place in the code and the kind of device — never your notes, your password or your address. You can delete your account and everything in it yourself at any time.
